Debt Free For Good - Get Your Credit Report
Getting your credit report is easy. Getting a credit score is easy, but building a good credit history is difficult. A good credit history means that you are debt free and taking care of your financial situation. Approximately 10-15% of the American population is debt free and almost 85-90% of the American population owes money to credit card companies which leads to debt. More and more debt leads to bad credit history. If you want to establish a good credit history, you should get your credit report and follow these 7 tips:
- Pay your bills on time, every month.
- Pay more than the minimum due or pay off the balances entirely.
- Avoid exceeding your credit limit. Fees are charged if you pay late and/or charge above your credit limit.
- Create a budget so you’ll know what you can afford. If you can’t afford it, don’t charge it.
- Avoid having too many credit cards with large balances or large amounts of available credit – even if you make your payments on time.
- Keep your billing address current to avoid lost statements that cause you to pay late.
- Review your credit report annually to make sure it’s accurate.
If you find that your credit report is not accurate, you should straighten your credit report before it’s too late. If you find any outstanding balances on your credit report, you should make a point in reducing those balances either by doing it yourself or contacting a debt management program and become debt free for good. Not only will they help you in reading your credit report, but also will help you in providing options for debt settlement.
