Where can I get a copy of my credit report?

Your credit report is available to you in a number of ways. You can contact the credit bureaus directly, which are mentioned above.

You can also find many companies licensed to sell you copies of your credit report, usually at a reasonable fee. In addition, these companies usually have good customer service, have fast turn around for reports (next day service is not uncommon), and often offer a "Merged Report" which contains information from all three major credit bureaus in one report. Even though there are many smaller credit bureaus around United States, most credit grantors look at information from one of the “Big Three.”

In addition, you are entitled to a free credit report if a credit grantor used that report (from that credit bureau) to determine you unworthy of credit, employment or insurance. You have 60 days after being declined to obtain your free report.
