How is a credit card different from a debit card?
In the case of credit cards, a grantor or bank issues a card based on a consumer’s credit history. Although a minimum payment is required toward the balance each month, a finance charge as high as 23.9% could be added based on the total amount of goods and services purchased. On the other hand, debit cards are issued by banks to make purchases at store. Essentially, they are electronic replacements for checks. When paying with a debit card, the amount of a store purchase is automatically deducted from a consumer’s checking account.
