Debt management depends upon the financial means of the client, and the client’s emotional desire to pay off credit. Viable strategies are worked out in as little as one or two sessions. Credit counseling is not a therapy. Credit counselors do not diagnose patients. They act as liaisons between those who have lent money or wish to collect it and those who have not yet settled accounts fraught with late charges and mounting finance fees.
Debit Card - A card that deducts the purchase price directly from the person’s personal checking account.
Debt Management Programs - A program in which the creditors are paid off through a plan worked out by the program.
Debt Reduction Settlement - A settlement made for less than the full price of a debt. Usually done through negotiation.
